NARRATIVE :

You find yourself in a quiet, dusty antique shop. The bright sun struggles through clear stain glass windows, almost completely obscured with stacked artifacts from countless generations, where the gaps between these treasures create a jungle of dust suspended sunbeams that you break as you walk further in.

As you make your way to the glowing display-cased register, the shop owner, a vintage treasure himself, smiles and points to a new member of his prized but temporary collection. On top of a pile of space craft photos, you see a coiled colorful cable with time dulled metal ends, with crinkly transparent amber and white accents. While you bend to look closer the shop owner overflows with excitement that this is indeed a space flown cable from the American space program that made its way to the moon and back.

When you study it even more you notice it looks just like the cable you’ve used with your electric guitar for years. You feel the historic bravery wrapped into the character of the cable and it fills you with excitement and musical inspiration. You’re eager to see if it would work with your guitar and how its journey might uniquely color the tone of your guitar. This feeling of space borrowed exploration compels you to make it a part of your collection and find out for yourself.

ABOUT THE CABLE :

space + craft captures the design and manufacturing methods of vintage space program vehicle cables to create new, fully functional, mission tested, and super robust guitar cables that are part prop, part product and super charged with details and inspiration.

Each cable is handmade in Chicago and signed by Gerry Mayer III, using the same methods used to make aerospace vehicle cables, with a uniquely serialized Kapton wrapped tri-badge labelling system which includes labels in the middle of the cable and on both ends which contain engineering specification and testing sign off, a custom graphic of the specific planetary alignment on the exact date of manufacture, the type of space craft the cable was “recovered” from and a direct line of communication to MODULE! labs for private serial number database lookup for the opportunity to reunite a lost cable.

The cables are made from brand new:

·        10 feet of Mogami W2524 unbalanced instrument cable with double shielded copper and carbon PVC shields, wrapped with colorful red PET monofilament, anti-abrasion cord wrapping

·        Square Plug SPS6M mono audio connectors, tip sleeve (TS) configuration, ¼ inch connectors with dual screw down cable anchors

·        Super strain relief heat-shrink with hand punched micro flex perforations

Each cable includes a signed certificate of authenticity, with duplicate copies of each unique tri-badge label found on your cable, for your records.
